Glacier National Park was truly more beautiful than any place I’ve ever been in this country, but the surprising thing even among all that beauty was the overwhelming number of waterfalls throughout the park.  On our first hike I assumed we had just chosen well, but as our trips continued, I realized that Glacier is just full of amazing waterfalls....

There are tall ones that drop single streams of water down precipices that seem to fall for ages. (Unnamed water fall off of mountain pass into lake Otokomi, Glacier National Park)

There are short ones that pool into cool swirls of deep blue water before meandering on their way. (Deadwood Falls, Glacier National Park)

There are cascading ones that fall and drop and fall and drop hundreds of times. (Florence Falls, Glacier National Park)

There are violent ones that send furies of water barreling down rocky, treacherous passes. (Gros Ventre Falls, Glacier National Park)

There are hidden ones that sneak between tall cliff walls covered in dark mosses. (Avalanche Creek, Glacier National Park)

There are waterfalls that don’t like to be alone so double the fun. (Twin Falls, Glacier National Park)

There are show pony falls that take your breath away with their perfectly balanced symmetry and consistent flow rates. (Dawn Mist Falls, Glacier National Park)

There are waterfalls that invite you to slide down their slick flat surfaces like a child. (White Quiver Falls, Glacier National Park)

Some waterfalls provide your evening entertainment. (Mokowanis Falls, Glacier National Park)

Some waterfalls are easy to access, never leaving the comforts of your car. (unnamed falls, near Logan Pass, Going to the Sun Road, Glacier National Park)
